A Study on the Preventive Health Behavior of Lementary School Teachers in Pohang District

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was conducted to investigate the influencing facotrs on the acceptance of vaccination of viral hapatitis type B. Two groups divided of 237 elementary school teachers responded for the research. The measures used for this are Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scales and the Health Belief Model.
The results of this study are as follows:
1. The awareness on health of vaccinated group is higher than that of the nonvaccinated group (F= 5.45, P < 0.05).
2. The knowledge on viral hepatitis type B of the vaccinated group is higher than that of the nonvaccinated group (F= 4.74, P < 0.05).
3. The perceived barrier of the vaccinated group is lower than that.of the nonvaccinated group (F= 5.96, P < 0.05).
4. There is no difference between two groups in terms of the Health Locus of Control (HLOC).
5. There is a correlation among the Inner-HLOC and Awareness on health (P<0.01), the Seriousness of viral hapatitis type B (P < 0.001) and the perceived benefit of hapatitis vaccination.
6. The perceived barrier of the other hand powerful-HLOC person is higher than that of the other HLOC.
